How much is the CRS Roofing scholarship?

The CRS Roofing & Construction Scholarship is a one-time award of $1,000 paid to one student. It is not renewable.

Who can apply for the scholarship?

Any graduating high school senior or currently enrolled college, university, or trade school student in the United States who has at least a 2.5 GPA and will be enrolled for the upcoming academic year. Any field of study is welcome. You do not need to live in Texas or study roofing.

What is the application deadline?

Applications are due May 1, 2027. The winner is notified by June 1, 2027 and funds are sent for the Fall 2027 term.

What can I use the money for?

Anything that supports your education. The $1,000 is paid directly to the winner to use for tuition, fees, books, supplies, a laptop, housing, food, transportation, a parking pass, or whatever else helps you stay in school. There are no restrictions.

Do I need to be studying construction or roofing?

No. The scholarship is open to students in any major or trade anywhere in the U.S. We are a Texas roofing company, but we built this to support hard-working students everywhere, not only future roofers.

Why We Fund This Scholarship

CRS Roofing & Construction is a locally owned Texas roofing company. We earn a living doing honest, hard work on roofs across West Texas, but hard work is not bound by a zip code. The same grit that gets a roof finished right is what we want to reward in a student, wherever they are.

This scholarship is our way of investing in one student who shows up, works hard, and wants to build a future. We know the cost of school is more than tuition, so the award is yours to put toward whatever keeps you going, books, supplies, housing, food, transportation, or a parking pass. You do not have to live in Texas or study any particular subject. Any major, any goal, any student is welcome.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible, you must:

Be a graduating high school senior, or a currently enrolled college, university, or trade school student (full or part time).
Attend, or plan to attend, an accredited college, university, or trade school in the United States.
Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
Be enrolled, or planning to enroll, for the upcoming academic year.

Employees of CRS Roofing & Construction and their immediate families are not eligible.

The Essay

Write 400 to 600 words on one of the prompts below. We read for honesty and effort, not polish.

Prompt 1

Hard weather tests everything we build. Tell us about a time you had to do honest, hard work to fix or rebuild something, a project, a team, a community, or yourself, and what it taught you about doing a job the right way.

Prompt 2

What are you working toward, and what is one real obstacle you are pushing through to earn your education? Tell us how you keep going and what finishing school will mean for you.

How We Choose the Winner

The CRS team reads every essay and selects one recipient based on the honesty and strength of the writing and clear effort. The decision is made by CRS Roofing & Construction and is final. We will announce the winner on this page and contact them directly. The $1,000 award is paid once, directly to the winner for the Fall 2027 term, to use for any education expense, from tuition and books to housing, food, transportation, or a parking pass.
